Employer's reference

Either a completed form or a written statement from an employer confirming the borrower's employment, giving details of his or her salary status of the employment such as permanent, part time or contract and length of service, an essential requirement for assessing an employee's ability to repayment the mortgage.

Lenders will normally write to the employer for this reference to ensure the integrity of the information they will not normally accept the reference direct from the applicant.
